Get your child on the right path in life for just £49.99

Never has a generation of children suffered more from mental ill health (1 in 10) and childhood obesity.  But it doesn’t have to be this way.
You may have already heard about the benefits yoga can bring to support a child’s physical and emotional development.  Children who are not as enthusiastic about competitive sport or who need additional learning support are especially encouraged.

We want to help you use yoga to get your child more activeWe are keen to help  tackle issues affecting many children in the UK; lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem and bullying.

Yoga embeds in children, an understanding of the benefits of regular exercise and a healthy diet.  Classes deliver a valuable life skill in a fun and creative way bringing learning alive so that each and every child can take part and feel the benefit.

We teach YogaBugs to children from aged 2 ½ to 7 and Yoga’d Up for 8-12 year olds. Classes start on the 9th January, they last for six weeks at a cost of £49.99 and you can find out more and see the schedule here:  http://www.yogasquare.co.uk/yoga-courses-london/

Every Child Matters is a programme of change for children and young people and is the government’s vision for enhancement of the way in which professionals work together to provide children’s care.   The programme places better outcomes for children firmly at the centre of all policies and approaches involving children’s services. These outcomes are:

Be healthy to ensure that children and young people are physically healthy, mentally and emotionally healthy, sexually healthy, living healthy lifestyles and not choosing to take illegal substances. Through yoga classes children are taught physical posture work to maintain strength, flexibility and stamina, whilst relaxation and visualisation techniques help to increase self-confidence and reduce anxiety.

Stay safe from maltreatment, neglect, violence and sexual exploitation. That they are safe from accidental injury and death, safe from bullying and discrimination, crime and anti social behaviour in and out of school and that they have security and stability and are cared for. Classes highlight how to deal with challenging issues through breathing, posture work and relaxation techniques.

Enjoy and achieve through learning through being ready for school, attending and enjoying school, that they stretch national educational standards at primary school and that they achieve personal and social development and enjoy recreation. Yoga is for everyone and everyone can enjoy it and realise their potential.

Yoga helps children to connect with their intuitive nature which in turn helps boost their self confidence and can help them to develop into more grounded individuals.

Whilst it may be difficult to see how yoga helps economic wellbeing, it is true to say that if a child feels confident and happy, they are less likely to crave the security that material goods give them to help them keep up with their peer group.  Yoga also helps reduce the likelihood of kids becoming bullies by improving their self-esteem.

The programme demands that all organisations that provide services to children work together in more integrated and effective ways. Both YogaBugs and Yoga’d Up course materials are designed to uphold these values with a vision of laying healthy foundations for children’s lives ahead.
